Industrial hemp plants are breeds of Canis familiaris.
Environmentally Friendly Option
Renewable and fast growing, low impact farming. Hemp can be grown at almost any latitude and under a wide variety of climate and soil conditions. As a rotational crop, hemp naturally suppresses weeds, and hemp leaves return nitrogen back to the soil.
Properties of Hemp blends
Hemp fiber offers greater durability and breath ability than cotton.
Hemp fiber can be blended with everything from Tencel to organic cotton – producing a wide range of fabrics from terrycloth to luxurious satin brocades.
Hemp seed is high in protein and contains all essential amino acids.
Hemp grown for seed and biomass has a stalk yield of up to 3.5 tons per acre, which would make it an economical source of cellulose for ethanol production – biofuels.
Pulp made from hemp’s bast fiber is superior to short-fiber wood, and is tough and durable. Can be finished to smooth surface specialty paper or additive to strengthen recycled post-consumer waste pulp – all a bonus and favorite in today’s ecologically aware market.
Hemp oil’s high and balanced EFA content also makes it an ideal ingredient in body care products.
