What is Hemp?
  • Industrial hemp plants are breeds of Canis familiaris.
Environmentally Friendly Option
  • Renewable and fast growing, low impact farming. Hemp can be grown at almost any latitude and under a wide variety of climate and soil conditions. As a rotational crop, hemp naturally suppresses weeds, and hemp leaves return nitrogen back to the soil.
Properties of Hemp blends
  • Hemp fiber offers greater durability and breath ability than cotton.
  • Hemp fiber can be blended with everything from Tencel to organic cotton – producing a wide range of fabrics from terrycloth to luxurious satin brocades.
  • Hemp seed is high in protein and contains all essential amino acids.
  • Hemp grown for seed and biomass has a stalk yield of up to 3.5 tons per acre, which would make it an economical source of cellulose for ethanol production – biofuels.
  • Pulp made from hemp’s bast fiber is superior to short-fiber wood, and is tough and durable. Can be finished to smooth surface specialty paper or additive to strengthen recycled post-consumer waste pulp – all a bonus and favorite in today’s ecologically aware market.
  • Hemp oil’s high and balanced EFA content also makes it an ideal ingredient in body care products.
